The Capitol Steps
Start Date: 10/24/2012Start Time: 7:30 PM
End Date: 10/24/2012End Time: 10:30 PM
Event Description

The Capitol Steps are the only people in Washington who attempt to be funnier than the politicians! This troupe of former (but not disgruntled) Congressional staffers travels the county, satirizing the very people and places that employed them. Performing more than 400 shows a year, the Steps leave no issue untouched with their routines, featuring songs set to familiar tunes such as “Secret Service Man,” "Oprah vs. the Cattlemen” and “Saddam vs. The World.” Over the past 16 years, the Capitol Steps have been featured on three national PBS specials, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, NBC Nightly News, and CNN’s Inside Politics. Many celebrities and politicians, some of whom have been targets themselves, have performed with the troupe including Vice President Gore, Sam Donaldson, Michael Dukakis, Larry King and President Bush, to name a few. The only complaints the Capitol Steps seem to get are from politicians who are not included in the program!
