Event Description Please join the Department of Pan-African Studies Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at 12 noon in room 127C in Oscar Ritchie Hall, the main office conference room, for a lecture from Professor Mendy titled, "Human Rights Issues in American Literature."
Dr. Louis Mendy is a Fulbright Research Scholar for the academic year 2012-2013. Dr. Mendy is an associate professor of American Literature and Civilization at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal (West Africa). He is at Kent State University, this academic year, to conduct research on Human Rights Issues in American Literature. On top of his teaching profession, Dr. Mendy is a Human Rights defender who has voluntarily worked for Amnesty International in Senegal and London for nearly a decade.
